Quick update on Spirit's homework issue from yesterday, guess what he did? He completed the homework during the after school program on Wednesday, so he got a hall pass and walked to his classroom and turned it in. When he went up to his teacher yesterday morning to tell her he lost his homework, she looked through her box and said "You already turned it in."
He was telling me this story when he got home and said he was really embarrassed for forgetting he had already turned it in! Poor little guy even cried over this!

Now on to this week's recipe:
The title does not make this recipe sound all that good, but let me just tell you that they are very tasty. These make for a great on-the-go kinda breakfast and are quick and easy to prepare.
Breakfast Sausage Balls
INGREDIENTS:
1 lb ground pork sausage
2 c biscuit baking mix (such as Bisquick)
1 lb sharp cheddar, shredded
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, combine sausage, biscuit mix and cheese. Form into walnut size balls. Place on a baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes. Let cool slightly before serving.

I am glad to hear that the mystery of the homework was solved. But I am sorry that Spirit had to go through that trauma.
My family loves this recipe. I always think I am making enough to freeze some for later, but they all seem to get eaten within the first day! LOL.
Oh, I am so glad everything worked out for your little guy..
I love sausage balls. They are so yum.
These sound great! I'm going to try them next week!
Oh - and I'm so glad the homework mystery was solved. Sounds similar to our outcome!
Glad Spirit had a better day!
Oh, I did get the poem. Thank you so very much.. I love it. I am going to print it out..and put it where I can read it often..
Thanks for your kindness and sharing it with me..
Ah! And all the stress over the homework!
I have made those, and they are soo good! (I'll check back tomorrow for the popcorn balls! I love them, and can't wait to make them for my kids!)
I feel so bad for your seven year old. As a former first grade teacher, that seems like a lot of homework for a second grader. I feel bad for the kids that they are encouraged to grow up so fast! However-I also have a second grader, and you did do the right thing! Tough love is necessary. (But I know you hate to do it! I always do, but they don't know it!)
I just read your post about your baby-and cried-my dear friend lost her son three years ago, the exact same way...Then she got pregnant again, we all said, "Good for you, this baby will be fine." But it happened again after 20 weeks. Another boy. I feel so bad for her, and so sad for you as well-that is a terrible thing to go through. My prayers are with you...
Yay Spirit! Glad there was a happy ending!
Sausage balls sound yummy!
Sausage balls...these I get anytime I head to the inlaws! Love them, but not enough to make them myself! LOL
OMG--I'm going to make these too! Maybe this weekend?
