This weekend my dad was able to come visit us. He hasn't been to our new house yet (even though we have lived there almost 2 years!). This was a great pleasure in itself, but my sister was also in town from Seattle with her family so we were able to see them as well. My sister hasn't seen my new house either, she has 3 kids and so do we so we rarely get to see each other. She was in town for a wedding. She came over with her 3 kids while my husband went with her husband to the Broncos game.
At first the kids had to set boundaries with each other -- you know things like "He is standing in MY spot that I always stand to color at" or "She took my sister's baby doll" -- but once that was settled they got along great. Between the 2 of us we have a 7 yo, 6 yo, 5 yo, 3 1/2 yo, 2 1/2 yo and a 1 yo. Amongst that was 4 boys and 2 girls. My dad joked "are you girls going to get to visit with other or just referee and supervise?" We did get to visit a little and I think the overall visit was great!
