A family fave in my house is to make french toast using raisin bread. It is so cinnamon-y and yummy!
Here is my "batter" for french toast:
INGREDIENTS:
1 Tbls sugar
2 beaten eggs
1/2 c milk
1 tsp vanilla
dash or two of ground cinnamon
6-8 slices of bread
Beat ingredients in a shallow dish. Place bread in dish and coat both sides (if your bread is older and maybe a little stale, let it soak in the mixture for a few minutes.) Cook in a skillet over medium heat until golden. Flip and brown other side.
Homemade Maple Syrup
INGREDIENTS:
1/2 tsp Mapeline (found in the spices section of the grocery store)
1 c water
2 c sugar
Bring water to boil. Remove from heat and add Mapeline and sugar. Stir until sugar is completely dissolved. Store in a container (I use an old store-bought syrup container)
