I have signed up to take a meal every other Sunday to the family I told you about last week. I emailed Katie this week and asked if there was anything special she wanted this Sunday or if she just had a downright craving for something.
She emailed me back saying that she really wants enchiladas but her kids don't like them so she said "don't worry about it." She then said her kids have been wanting oatmeal cookies.
QUESTION:
Would it be weird to go ahead and get her some enchiladas (I was thinking of just getting some from our favorite restaurant) just for her? Then I would make her kids a meal (with Oatmeal cookies for dessert) so they wouldn't have to eat enchiladas.
Please give me your feedback. I don't want her to feel like I went out of my way or to feel weird that she is eating something different from her kids.

I think it would be wonderful for you to do the enchiladas just for her. She probably is not doing much for herself right now and that would be a great pick me up and make her feel special - and the kids, too, by making them their "own" meal.
It's a great thing you're doing! Keep up the good work.
I think that's a lovely idea. My kids don't mind eating something different from me and my husband.
What a nice thing you are doing.
I totally agree with the other comments and think it would bea lovely treat for the Mom to have what she wants, We sometimes do that and give DS something different if we have something he's not fussed on, he thinks he's getting a special meal, I'm sure her children would see it that way too.
You are doing a marvellous marvellous thing.
..x..
Definitely bring her some. If her kids don't like it they won't care that they didn't get any, especially if you bring the cookies :)
I think it's great that you are doing this for them. I am sure she appreciates the time and thought you are putting into it.
I know its late, but I would have gotten her enchiladas. moms need someone to recognize JUST THEM.
I think it would be a very nice gesture. Then, do something very kid friendly (and easy) for the kiddos.
