Spirit (who is 7 1/2 years old) came running out of his room last night after he had been in bed only about 10 or 15 minutes. He was making a weird gurgling sound and holding his throat. Mr. Man and I rushed over to see him and were asking him what was wrong. He couldn't speak and was gasping for air. Even though I have taken CPR/First Aid I could not remember one thing! I panicked! So Mr. Man grabbed him and did the Heimlich maneuver and out flew a quarter. A quarter. As soon as the calmness was restored I asked him why there was a quarter in his mouth and he said he was holding it in one hand and he dropped it and it fell in his mouth and went right down his throat.
I am glad it didn't turn out worse than what it did. He is ok. No apparent damage.

Wow! Sounds like his guardian angels were working overtime! So glad your husband knew the Heimlich and was able to perform it!
Yikes! Thank God this didn't happen at my house. Remember when we took the CPR class together...um, 15 years ago?! Yeah, that was the last time for me.
This post had me feeling weak in the knees. How freakin' scary!!!!!!!!!!!! So happy to hear that he had the sense to go outside to get you. Oh goodness. So happy to hear the ending of yoru stiry is good. Who cares about the slip and slide in the bathroom now :)
That is SO scary! Glad he was able to get up and come to you or you never would have known. Things like that are so random! Glad he's okay. And I hope your legs don't feel like Jello anymore - because I know they must have! When my husband choked on corn I couldn't walk for, like, 10 minutes! LOL!
