I try to do different things with the kids' lunches to keep them interesting and fun! I have cut the sandwich into what looks like a puzzle, I have used cookie cutters and cut shapes out of the center and then put it all back together. I always include a joke, riddle or a little note for them to read (click here for more ideas on that topic). I have even included a pencil and word scramble or mazes for them to do (especially on cold, wet days when I know they will be stuck inside).
BUT, recently I saw some cute ideas over at Gourmet Mom On-The-Go for some fun sandwich ideas. Go check it out, I know I am definitely going to try some of her ideas, they look so cute.

How cute! Makes box lunch so much more fun!
Thankfully, there is now a hot lunch program at A's school. After a year of NO hot lunch program and having to pack a lunch EVERY SINGLE DAY, I don't know if we will pack a single one this year. LOL But if we do, I will totally try one of those!
you are such a great mom... I started out this way, back in the day. Yesterday my kid made a pb sandwich and I took the effort to hand her a cup of pineapple tidbits.
