College Nanny

There are goods and bads to hiring a college student as a nanny:

Good: She has lots of energy
Bad: She has lots of energy

Good: She does crafts with the kids
Bad: She doesn't stop the kids from making a mess during crafts (like they used glitter glue in the living room on the carpet without protection under it) and she lets the kids get into my craft supplies (argh!)

Good: She is old enough to know right from wrong
Bad: She isn't old enough to have common sense about certain things

Guess what she allowed the children to do? A slip-n-slide in my bathroom. Yes, my bathroom upstairs was a slip-n-slide while I was at work. I came home, she was already gone and Mr. Man was on the phone. I went upstairs to use the bathroom and noticed a lot of water behind the toilet. I cleaned it all up and then noticed my bath mats were gone and all my towels (including the extras in the closet). Since Mr. Man was on the phone I asked Lefty if he knew why there was so much water on the floor in the bathroom.

Lefty: "Yes. All 3 of us took a bath and then we were splashing on the floor so we could slide better."

Me: "What do you mean 'so you could slide better'?"

Lefty: "We did a slip-n-slide in here."

Me: "In my bathroom?"

Lefty: "Yes. We went like this" he then proceeded to demonstrate how they did it.

Mr. Man told me that the nanny told him what she allowed and she told him she was just mad that she never thought of such a thing when she was young. (I told him that the reason she never thought of it is because her mother would have killed her!)

I told the kids that in the future that would not happen again. At this point, Spirit informed me that they also used my shampoo as bubble bath.

Nice.

**She sure beats the 50 year old nanny we had last summer that literally sat on the couch and talked on the phone all day long. Spirit would tell us things he was able to get away with because she wasn't paying a lick of attention to them!**
