My SIL and her husband came to Denver from Missouri this weekend. We went to my MIL and FIL's house for lunch on Sunday. Then we just hung out and gabbed for a few hours. My SIL was complaining a little bit during lunch that this year on her 50th birthday her husband will be in Alaska for work. Her kids are all married and busy doing different things that week so she will be alone. She wasn't complaining too much, but you could tell she was a little hurt. So, the funniest thing happened. We decided to go to get some dessert at Perkins. Mr. Man and I (for some unknown reason) took off and in a little bit of a hurry and said we would go get a table for all of us. When my SIL got there her jaw dropped and her eyes lit up! There were streamers hung up, there were sparkling "50"'s hanging from the ceiling and there were signs above our table that said Happy Birthday!
Sadly, we did not plan this surprise for her! Perkin's actually turns 50 this year too! So it was all a coincidence but it sure made us all laugh! She thought it was funny too! She told her husband that this doesn't mean he doesn't have to do anything for her now! We laughed and took some pictures of her under the streamers and stuff!! It was fun!
