With all the falling snow we had last week (closed down the city for two days...) it really got my husband and I in the Christmas shopping spirit. Over the years my husband has learned not to wait until the last minute to do his shopping (thanks to all my nagging!) We (the whole family) were running errands and we found some stuff on clearance and he didn't even hesitate to throw 'em in the cart. When we got home he was commenting on how good it feels to have a jump start on the Christmas shopping and how it will be so nice to be done early! I told him if we plan to do just a little bit with each paycheck we should be in good shape.
Each kid had made a wish list a few weeks ago (yes I said a FEW WEEKS ago) and so we sort of had an idea of what we were going to get each kid already. The items we found on clearance were on our minds to get them anyway so it feels like an even bigger score for us!
THEN, Mr. Man announces to me that he doesn't know if he can wait two months... I guess that must be why he always was a "last-minute-shopper". I told him I am going to wrap the presents up and then he won't be able to give them to the kids early!
Then the other morning Spirit was laying in our bed and out of the blue Mr. Man says to him "Don't even try looking in our closet for Christmas presents!" - I looked at him and said "WHY in the world would you have even suggested that to him?" He just hung is head and said "I don't know." -- Apparently he should stick to being a last minute shopper! Sheesh! Needless to say, I am hiding the presents in a new spot and not telling Mr. Man where they are! :-)

We have everything planned out and some of it bought already. Just spreading it over the paychecks over here too :)
I bought dh's gift yesterday (I'm getting him that Flip camera - he's been bugging me about wanting a new camera forever!) I don't know if I can wait to give it to him though, it's supposed to arrive this week!
I've already bought some gifts, too, and I've started on some "handmade" items as well. Things get so busy around here for us, I just hope I have time to finish everything!
Plus, I go with a friend Black Friday shopping. We go mainly to have an excuse to be together all day with no kids! We have a great time people watching! But don't worry, I will not be the woman you see on the news punching someone in the neck to get a $10 Barbie!
There must be something in there HE wants to play with! :)
Beth: How did ya know? LOL
I was always an early shopper... until I met Sweetheart. now, the temptation to give him presents early to is too great for me. two years ago, we opened all of our presents the week before Christmas. now, I give them to my Mom to hold with strict instructions NOT to let me have them early. Im weak.
That is too funny!
My boys want Legoes-just the expensive ones, too...
Hahaha....Peter is the same way! If he buys things even a week before the event (birthday, Christmas, etc) he can't stand to wait and usually gives the gifts early.
Take heart. You're not the only one with a hubby who would say, "Don't even think of looking in our closet..."
Why, oh why?
I am shaking my head.
