Cooling down

This cooler downright cold fall weather we are having really makes me wish I was home and not at work. I want to be home baking, or maybe sitting by the fireplace reading, or even soaking in a nice hot bath. Anything but here at this cold office. I work with 3 men, none of which are ever cold. So I sit here with my thick sweaters on and sometimes even with my cold too, while they walk around here in short sleeves. My dear friend brought me a pumpkin spice latte from SB today....that'll help keep me warm!

Does anyone else feel like Christmas is gonna sneak up on them? I was feeling ready to have all my gifts bought and wrapped and shipped and today I am feeling like I won't be able to pull it off. I know it is only October, but for some reason I am in panic mode today. I think that may have something to do with feeling like I won't be able to financially do all the things I had hoped for. We are doing more handmade things this year and that may or may not help.

The boys had a fundraiser at school and the money was due today. Spirit was short 2 items to get this silly "racing pig" he wanted so Mr. Man ordered 2 items. Lefty really, really wanted a Dippin Dots maker but didn't sell 75 items, he only sold 13. He is very bummed. I hate the fundraisers because they pump those kids up to sell, sell, sell and then they are disappointed in themselves when they don't sell much. Last year the only fundraiser I let them participate in was the chocolate candy bar sales. It is so much work for the parents too. Plus, I feel like every other week they come home with something to sell. I can't hit up my friends every other week! Sheesh!!!

If you have made to the end of this post...you must be bored. I had nothing of value to write today! hee hee. Tomorrow I am doing a tribute to my father in law for his 80th birthday and then Thursday I have some fun pictures to post.

Thanks for staying tuned as long as you did! :-)

Thank you for coming over and saying Hi!! I think it is great that you will be making more hand made items for Christmas. I really do believe friends and family appreciate them more- now kids....

I so agree about the fund raisers- we got around that by homeschooling our kids!!

My office is always cold too - we don't have any control over the building temp and we all make do with layers and even blankets for our lower body...it's sad.

I have been thinking about Christmas for the last month! I am really tight on money until the end of the year so I'm slowly buying little by little (and trying to win contests online even!).

I remember buying things I did not want so my son could get stupid stuff in those fundraisers. It was all so very important at the time!!

On fundraisers...there is a district here that the parent association said enough is enough and they held one and that was it. Not sure exactly what they did but it made the news!Grandma B
