We were driving to the store, just the kids and I, and Spirit asks if we are almost there. I said we would be there in about 10 minutes and he immediately says:
Spirit: "Ok. Good. Let's move to Costa Rica, mom"
I think my jaw hit the steering wheel and I said "WHA?"
He said that he had been learning about Costa Rica in school and it looks like a really cool place to live.
hmmm, let me think about that...
LATER THAT EVENING:
Spirit and Mr. Man are laying on the couch watching TV.
Spirit: "Dad? Have you ever been to Costa Rica?"
Mr. Man: No, I haven't."
Spirit: "Well, I want to get an ox cart."
Mr. Man: "Wha?!?!"
Spirit: "Ya, dad. They are really cool."
Mr. Man: "You do know that we have no need for an ox cart, right son?"
Spirit: "Why not?"
Mr. Man: "For one thing we have cars we drive and, ummm, more importantly, we don't farm anything."
Spirit: "Can we still get one, just to look at?"

I love it when we know a little tid bit of what goes on in those minds of theirs - it's so enlightening!

I think you need an ox cart. It would be a great conversation piece.
My daughter told us the other day that she is thinking of taking a vacation to Antartica to see the polar bears and penguins.
At least he's paying attention at school!
Thats the cutest thing!!! I'd love to visit Costa Rica!
Thanks for stopping by my blog the other day.
I love your header - and yes, doesn't motherhood seem like a fishbowl at times!
I agree with Spirit - at least go look at it :) It is on my list of places to go.
